DESCRIPTION

According to the US Census Bureau, by the year 2040 individuals from historically underrepresented ethnic groups will make up half of the US workforce. Also, for the first time in modern history four generations are working side by side. Clearly the demographics of the American landscape and its workforce are changing. The quality of interactions and relationships in an organisation directly affects business results; therefore, it is necessary to have a complete understanding of the communication dynamics that exist in a corporation.

This course will help reduce workplace conflict and provide strategies for dealing with recruitment, retention and motivation using generational, gender and cultural dynamics in a positive way. An honest and open class environment will stimulate positive interaction and constructive discussion among participants. Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to examine the impact, consequences and benefits of racial, class, gender and generational differences in the workplace.
